EMERGENCY crews have now extinguished a fire within a disused building in Irvine.
An emergency response was prompted at the building on Kilwinning Road after the alarm was raised around 8.30pm.
The road was closed for a number of hours before the blaze was put out shortly after 2am on Tuesday, October 8.
There are no reports of injuries and police enquiries are now underway after the road was re-opened.
A police spokesperson said: "We were called to a report of a fire at a disused building in Kilwinning Road, Irvine, around 8.30pm on Monday, October 7.
"The road was closed while emergency services responded to the incident. There are no reports of injuries.
"Kilwinning Road in Irvine has reopened, the fire has been extinguished and there are no injuries. Enquiries are ongoing."
