HOUSING group Ancho is inviting young people aged 14 to 26 to a special event in Irvine, in partnership with the council’s Community Learning and Development team.
Named ‘In the Know Roadshow’, the drop-in event is aimed at providing vital support for wellbeing, mental health, life skills, and education.
Young people and their guardians are invited to the event taking place from 2pm to 4pm on Wednesday, October 16, at the Volunteer Rooms in Irvine.
It will offer an excellent opportunity for attendees to learn about local resources that can help them develop essential life skills, access mental health and wellbeing support, and explore training and pre-employment opportunities.
Councillor Alan Hill, cabinet member for communities and islands, said: “Our Community Learning and Development team are delighted to be working alongside Ancho housing association on their upcoming mental health themed roadshow event.
“The Volunteer Rooms is situated in the heart of Irvine, just a short walk from the town centre and the ‘In the Know Roadshow’ drop-in is the perfect opportunity for young people and their guardians to come together to meet with our partners and get health, wellbeing and employability support.
“I would recommend saving the date and dropping in on Wednesday this week to find out about the local support available.”
Everyone is welcome. The event will have an open and supportive space for young people seeking guidance as they navigate important life transitions.
Louise Young, community support worker at Ancho, said: "This is a great chance for young people to learn about the wide range of support available to them in the community.
“Whether you're looking for guidance on your wellbeing, life skills, or exploring education and job opportunities, there will be plenty of useful information and support available. We really hope to see lots of people there."
So, if you're thinking about the future and what you need to take the next step in your education or employment journey or would like to build upon your own wellness and mental health resilience, come along to find out more about the local support available.
