IRVINE'S Rivergate Shopping Centre was 'evacuated' on Tuesday morning.
Fire crews were seen arriving at the centre, with the public evacuated from the building and forced to wait outside.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service has since confirmed that the incident was a false alarm, after it sent four vehicles to the scene.
A SFRS spokesperson said: "We responded to a false alarm at 9.34am on Tuesday, 22 October, within a commercial building on Fullarton Street, Irvine.
"Four appliances attended and ensured the area was safe before leaving the scene."
