POLICE say they are investigating a report of a man acting suspiciously towards school children in Irvine.
It comes after concerns were raised about the behaviour of a male in the Herbertson Crescent and Donaldson Drive area of the town on Monday, October 21.
A post made by a local mother on social media claimed that her child and two friends had been walking home from school when they were approached by an unknown male.
They said that this person "asked them to go into his house to see his puppies". The kids, who were left "terrified" by the incident, refused to do.
As well as confirming that police had been contacting with regards to the matter, the post also warned parents to be vigilant.
Police Scotland say their enquiries into the incident are ongoing at this time.
A force spokesperson said: "We received a report of a man acting suspiciously towards school children in the Herbertson Crescent and Donaldson Drive area of Irvine around 3.15pm on Monday, October 21, 2024.
"Enquiries are ongoing."
