A NEW Irvine entertainment venue has taken another step forward to becoming a reality.

Back in June, we reported that exciting plans had been lodged to transform the town's former M&Co store.

Proposals sought to change the use of the old Bridgegate shop, which closed its doors in 2023 when the clothing retailer collapsed.

The plans looked to create a new facility within the premises which included the introduction of a ten pin bowling alley, a golf simulator, a karaoke room, a snooker/pool hall, and a public bar with external seating.

North Ayrshire Council approved the plans just one month later - and now another application has been brought to the authority for the venue.

Ahead of December's licensing board meeting, documents have been published detailing applications that have been received in respect of premises licences.

Within these is a request from the venue, which has been dubbed 'Pops Bar', for an on and off sales alcohol licence.

Further information has not been detailed at this early stage, however objections or representations supporting the application can now be made.

These should be emailed to licensing@north-ayrshire.gov.uk or submitted in writing to 1st Floor Cunninghame House, Irvine, KA12 8EE before November 8.

The application while then be put to the board for approval when they meet on Monday, December 2.
