A STEWARTON organisation has been given a funding boost to put on popular events in the town.

Stewarton Bonnet Guild was successful in applying to The National Lottery Community Fund Scotland's latest round of awards.

The £5,000 funding will help with some of the group's Torchlight Procession and 2025 Gala Day costs, including insurance and traffic management.

The annual Stewarton Torchlight Procession and fireworks display takes place prior to New Year, and sees thousands of locals take to the streets with flaming torches.

The highly anticipated gala day sees the crowning of the Corsehill Queen, before a parade through the town and an afternoon of activities at Lainshaw Primary School.

A Bonnet Guild spokesperson said: "Big shout out to everyone who supports The National Lottery!"
