A WELL-KNOWN Irvine salon is holding a closing down event to celebrate the last 40 years in business.
Ruth’s Hair Salon on 148 High Street will close for the final time on Saturday, October 26.
For a final farewell, her family will hold a special gathering where everyone will get a chance to say thank you and goodbye.
It will be held in the salon on Sunday, October 27, between 1pm and 3pm.
Her family have organised a buffet, cakes and music as well as a special book made up of memories from the business over the last 40 years.
Ruth Duncan, the salon’s owner, said: “See if I stood here all day, I could name all the people who’ve been kind to me.
"One lady in particular came in and got me the nicest gift and she was there with her carer.
“I’ve had the most wonderful time with the people who’ve came in.”
