WORTHY winners of North Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership's 2024 Partnership Awards have been announced.
The ceremony took place on Friday, October 25 at the Redburn Community Centre in Irvine, and celebrated staff, teams and individuals who deliver health and social care services in North Ayrshire.
The ‘Promoting Wellbeing Together’ event also acknowledged the work of volunteers, community organisations and charities that support people's wellbeing.
Councillor Margaret Johnson, cabinet member for health and social care at North Ayrshire Council, said: "Our Promoting Wellbeing Together event really shone a spotlight on some of the fantastic work being carried out across North Ayrshire to boost the wellbeing of our communities, as well as the work happening within teams and organisations to support the wellbeing of staff.
"The standard of submissions was incredibly high again this year, with over 200 nominations received, making it an extremely difficult job for the scoring panel.
"Well done to everyone who was nominated this year, and a huge congratulations to our finalists and winners.
"Your hard work and dedication makes such a difference and doesn’t go unnoticed, so thank you for everything that you do."
The awards began with the 'Everyday Wellbeing Hero Award', presented by Joyce White, vice chair of North Ayrshire Integration Joint Board.
This was awarded to Dalia Alsawy, an Arabic bilingual liaison officer, for her passionate approach to supporting refugees in North Ayrshire.
The 'No1 Wellbeing Community Superhero' award was presented to Janie Stewart of MECOPP, a community health worker with the Gypsy Traveller community.
Through her work, she has started conversations about positive wellbeing within her community, helping to reduce the stigma often associated with mental health.
Debbie Alexander of CHAP was recognised with the 'Inspirational Wellbeing Leadership' award.
She was described as a remarkable leader who has transformed the organisation’s culture, focusing on wellbeing, inclusivity, and growth.
The 'Administration Wellbeing Star' award was won by Lynne Ferguson of NAHSCP.
She was acknowledged for leading her team in supporting the implementation of wellbeing suggestions.
The 'Volunteer Wellbeing Hero' award was presented to Liz Sullivan of Redburn Breakfast Club, who has been supporting local young people and families for over five years.
The 'Partnership Team Champions' award was given to the North Ayrshire Community Link Worker Service.
This service is accessible to all North Ayrshire residents through GP practices, with community link workers using a holistic approach to achieve positive wellbeing outcomes.
The 'Administration Team Wellbeing Stars' award went to the NAHSCP Business Support Team.
They were recognised for coordinating and organising a wide range of wellbeing opportunities for staff and partners.
The 'Volunteer Team Champions' award was won by Fullarton ConneXions Community Café Volunteers, who provide vital support to the paid café staff.
Autism Support Ayrshire was named 'Community Organisation Wellbeing Superheroes' for providing free and confidential advice, guidance, and support to families and individuals affected by autism across Ayrshire.
North Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership thanked everyone who submitted a nomination this year, as well as those who attended or contributed to the event and helped to make it a success
