NORTH Ayrshire Council is set to open registration for pupils starting primary school next summer.
Parents are being asked to register their children, who are starting primary school in August 2025.
The registration process is for children whose fifth birthday falls between March 1, 2025, and February 28, 2026.
Online registration will take place between Monday, November 11, and Sunday, November 24.
Councillor Shaun Macaulay, cabinet member for education, said: "We would urge parents to register their children as soon possible.
"Those who are unable to access the application online, should contact our customer services team on 01294 310000 where someone will be able to assist further."
Parents are advised to register their child's details for their catchment primary school by completing a P1 registration form.
They also have the option to submit a placing request to a primary school outside their catchment area, but must first register with their catchment primary school.
If one of these is made, a placing request form should be completed before December 6, 2024.
More information on placing requests and their processing can be found on the council website.
Parents submitting a placing request should note that they will be responsible for any transport costs, except in exceptional circumstances.
However, if they live more than two miles from their catchment primary school, they can apply for free school transport.
For more details about registering a child for primary 1, parents can visit the education and learning page on the council's website.
