IRVINE'S biggest taxi firm is undergoing a rebrand after the business was sold to another company.
Streamline Taxis have now completed a takeover of Irvine TOA, who will now be operating as 'Streamline Irvine'.
The Streamline brand will be one which is familiar to many across Ayrshire, with the business operating a fleet of more than 200 vehicles in a number of areas across the East, North and South of the county.
Their main base is within Prestwick, with current booking operators from TOA now to be based in this location.
While the move will see big changes in the branding of the business, operations will see little impact as a result of the move.
The 40 vehicles used by the former 33 owners of TOA will still be used, largely on the same routes and in the same places as previous.
The previous phone numbers used by the company will still remain in use, with the main promoted number being 01294 272727.
Following the announcement of the takeover, former Irvine TOA director William Taylor reflected on both the rebrand to Streamline and the 40 years as TOA.
He said: "As director of the Irvine Toa Ltd business which is now Streamline Taxis Irvine, I don’t have much left to do, other than say thanks to everyone for their support, especially over the last hectic few months.
"Special thanks to the present committee and all the previous committees who have steered Irvine Toa Ltd successfully for 40 years, serving the people of Irvine and beyond.
"Also to the half dozen founder members, without whom there would never have been an Irvine Taxi Owners Association at all for their commitment in getting Irvine’s first genuine 24 hour taxi operation off the ground all these years ago.
"We hope we’ll all thrive and survive under the Streamline Taxis Irvine brand, and we’ll all take a moment to remember the owners and drivers who sadly aren’t here today, for their past efforts in making the business a success.
"We all wish our loyal customers the very best and look forward to a new adventure under the Streamline group."
