The Rev Neil Urquhart and Father Willie Boyd - also know as Christmas single stars The Shoes Brothers - have written a joint festive message for our readers.
Rev Neil, of Fullarton Parish Church and Fr Boyd, of St Mary's, released their Abba-themed song and video last week.
They write: "It’s an anxious time for many. The cost of living, fears for the future, concern for loved ones, constant changes, incessant bad news? Easily our imaginations get so gripped by anxiety that we panic and retreat into a restricted and restricting world.
"You don’t need to be religious to cry to God for help and search beyond yourself for hope, purpose, and peace.
"As this card illustrates and suggests, like the Big Bang which set our universe in motion, the birth, life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ is expanding in influence and inspiration.
"Jesus’ Spirit continues to push back the darkness and swallow negativity with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and forgiveness.
"As the Shoes Brothers' Christmas single, which we released recently, says: 'Another year and Jesus leads us, Hope for all the world to see, To brighten up the darkest night, To drive out all anxiety.'
Please reach out and receive Jesus’ loving light of hope. He’s only a simple, honest prayer away. Wishing you, and yours well this Christmas and New Year,
Your local minister, priest and friends, Neil and Willie."
