AFTER running a five-week block in Greenwood Academy and Kilwinning Academy, Irvine Rugby Football Club hosted a rugby 10 -a-side tournament for S1 and S2 pupils.

In all 20 girls and 11 boys from Greenwood and 20 boys from Kilwinning participated in the event.

Teams represented were Greenwood, Kilwinning Red and Kilwinning Colours.

There were no awards as everyone simply enjoyed the experience of being at the rugby club as part of a team and having fun.

Thanks go to all schools for their support and Eric Young from Greenwood Academy and Kilwinning Academy's Chris Neil have been very supportive in driving rugby within the two schools.

Food and water for the event were supplied by Tesco and Sainsbury's and both stores have said they will support future events.
