IRVINE saved their best for last with a fine 11-try victory over Oban at Marress to round off their season in BT West One.
Jake Cresswell was the pick of the scorers with a hat-trick, while Jama Ntenga scored a brace and there were single scores for Neil McMillan, Ruchin Filander, John Carson, Paul Paterson, Robbie McVey and Siya Moabi.
Oban replied with unconverted tries from Jack Strachan, Kyle Graham and Craig McGuire.
Irvine went into the game having sealed sixth place, while Oban were safe from relegation.
The hosts finish with eight wins from their 18 league games, having lost their first seven.

Attention now turns to the 2nd XV’s push for promotion to BT Reserve West One, which they can seal with victory at home to their counterparts from Whitecraigs on Saturday.
