BT Reserve West One
IRVINE 2nd XV 48
DALZIEL 2nd XV 22
A BEN Auld hat-trick helped Irvine 2nds to a comfortable victory over their Dalziel counterparts at Marress.
James Cooney, Stuart Tracey, Martin Sneddon, Aaron Robertson and Craig Stevenson accounted for Irvine’s other scores in an eight-try rout, with Tracey converting his own try and three of the others.
The result moves Irvine up to ninth in BT Reserve West 1, while Dalziel drop to the bottom of the table, despite rallying for a try bonus point of their own.
Irvine are next due to travel to Hamilton 3rds, before hosting East Kilbride 2nds in their last game before the international break.
The 1st XV’s BT West 1 match at Garnock was postponed due to waterlogged pitches at Lochshore. Next up for them are back-to-back home games against Stewartry and Kilmarnock.
