Irvine Meadow co manager Colin Spence says his side went into ‘hiding’ in the second half against Auchinleck Talbot as they lost 5-1 at the weekend.
Despite the scoreline, the hosts started the game brightly and took the lead in the third minute at Meadow Park through inform midfielder Michael Wardrope.
The away side grabbed an equaliser just before the break through Bryan Boylan to ensure both sides went in level.
Talbot went all out in the second half however and goals from Mark Shankland, Aiden Wilson, Graham Wilson and a second from Boylan completed the rout.
Speaking to the Times, Spence said:”A few of the players went into their shell in the second half.
“It is the first time I have seen that for a long time, a few of them started hiding.
“We stopped working hard and Auchinleck were ruthless and took their chances.
“When the Bot got themselves in front, we looked as if we lacked a lot of belief.
“It was as if they felt a bit inferior to Auchinleck once they went behind, which was really disappointing.”
“But they need to bounce back and learn from the defeat and learn quick.”
