IRVINE Meadow have announce their new manager following the resignation of Kevin Deeney.
Martin Ferry is to step into the Meadow Park hotseat, and will be assisted by Des Roache.
The pair have worked together on a number of occasions previously, including at Kilbirnie Ladeside, where they formed the Blasties' management team from April 2020 until August 2021.
More recently, the duo had been working together as chief scouts for fellow West of Scotland Football League (WoSFL) Premier Division side Pollok.
Ferry also has managerial experience from a stint at Renfrew FC, but has been out of the managerial game since his Kilbirnie departure.
He also has vast experience as a player at this level, including a stint as a player at Meadow Park.
Upon the news of his arrival, which the club announced earlier today, Thursday September 14, fans quickly got behind the new gaffer.
One said: "Welcome home Martin. Legend as a player for us. Do half as well as manager and we will do fine.
"I know you will give everything for the club."
And as he steps back into management, he has a tough task at hand as he becomes the fifth person to manage the club in little over a year.
Co-managers Colin Spence and James Latta departed the club around this month last year and replacement George Grierson also resigned before Deeney left his role on Wednesday, September 6.
Meadow also lie in a precarious league position, as they prop up the table in the WoSFL Premier Division having taken four points from their opening seven matches.
Ferry will now step into the dugout for the first time on Saturday, September 16, as Medda face a tough challenge away to Lowland League side Broomhill in the South of Scotland Challenge Cup.
The game kicks off at 3pm at the moreroom.com Stadium.
