THE second day of action at the Scottish Boys Championship at The Irvine Golf Club is now underway.
Golfers have travelled from all over the globe to take part in the renowned tournament, which has previously been won by famous Scottish talents such as Stephen Gallacher and Robert MacIntyre.
Also amongst the 144-strong field are 38 home hopefuls who will be looking to follow in their footsteps.
The Ayrshire links proved a stern test on the opening day of action with only one under par round carded.
That came from England's William Partner who leads the field following a one under par round of 70 on Wednesday, April 10.
One back is Frenchman Alexandre Godin who posted an even par score on day one.
Five players who shot two over par occupy a tie in third position - including two Scotsmen.
Jamie McDonald from New St Andrews Golf Club and Royal Troon's Scott Newman will be eyeing a strong second round showing and a shot at the title when the final 36 holes are played on Friday, April 12.
The top 40 and ties will make it into the final day of action with two further Ayrshire players having work to do to make it to Friday.
Royal Troon's Connor Wills carded a eight over par first round and is currently in a tie for 50th.
While Sean Hillis of Kilmarnock Barassie is in a tie for 118th after a 14 over par opening round.
The live leaderboard is available online via the Scottish Golf website.
