Former Scottish professional footballer John Gemmell has been announced as the new manager of Stewarton United.
The Ayrshire Amateur Premiership side parted company with Perry Uppal at the end of last season, and were on the hunt for a new gaffer.
Gemmell, who also has experience of playing in the west of Scotland, will now take the East Ayrshire club forward into the new season.
A club spokesperson said: "John brings with him a wealth of experience at West of Scotland and senior level football.
"John has now decided to take the step into management and we are delighted he has accepted our offer.
"The committee and players look forward to welcoming John to the club and look forward to a successful future working together."
Gemmell, a striker, played for a host of clubs across a 22 year career, including Queen's Park, Partick Thistle, Hamilton and Dumbarton.
He has also had spells with Hurlford United, Cambuslang Rangers and Troon.
