IRVINE Meadow and Irvine Victoria are set to do battle tonight (Friday, August 23) in this year's Marymass derby fixture.
The annual match may be a friendly by name - but certainly is not one by nature.
A number of thrilling encounters have taken place over the years, with thousands of locals descending upon the fixture.
This year's match will kick off at 6.45pm, and is to be played at Meadow Park.
Last time out it was Irvine Meadow who claimed the Marymass trophy, defeating their rivals 4-0 at Victoria Park.
The two sides may be in different leagues, with Meadow in the West of Scotland Football League First Division and Vics in the Third Division, but that is not always the story on the park.
As recently as 2022, Meadow needed a last minute winner to come back from 1-0 down to secure the bragging rights - in one of the most memorable Marymass derbies in recent years.
Ahead of the big face off tonight, the home side have released a number of 'need to know' details for fans heading along to Meadow Park.
Tickets will cost £10 for adults, and £5 for concessions. Unlike last year, where the crowd was limited and the match was ticket only - entry can be obtained 'at the gate'.
Fans of the rival teams are also being asked to enter the ground at different locations.
All Irvine Meadow supporters, and neutrals attending the game, are asked to enter via Wilson Avenue only.
While Irvine Victoria fans have been told to come to the ground via the James Crescent entrance only.
The club have also added further warning to fans regarding behaviour at the ground.
Entry to the match will be granted at the discretion of those who are operating the gates.
No alcohol or pyrotechnics are to be allowed into the fixture and anyone with these items will have them confiscated before entry.
Fans are also asked to stay off the pitch at all times.
An Irvine Meadow spokesperson added: "This is a passionate fixture for both sets of fans - do not put the future of the fixture at risk by misbehaving.
"The committees of both clubs thanks you in advance for obeying these simple rules."
