AN IRVINE based Sunday amateur football side has taken the decision to withdraw from its league.
Gridle Toll AFC announced that the team would be leaving the Ayrshire division due to a number of issues that have arisen this season.
A club spokesperson said: "The beginning of the season has been a difficult one with many issues arising from the funding of the club to the numbers of the squad.
"We feel we have reached a point where we are no longer able to function to the standard we hold ourselves too.
"We want to thank everyone who’s helped the club since our start, from ex players to sponsors and venues, we couldn’t have run without your help."
Despite the withdrawal, the club is hoping to make a return to the league next season.
Members say work has already started to bring Girdle Toll AFC back for the beginning of the 2025/26 campaign.
