THERE were goals galore across the West of Scotland Football League (WoSFL) with Ayrshire sides right in the thick of it all.
While for two local sides, there was the small matter of the senior Scottish Cup second round - with one club earning a spot in round three on Saturday, October 26.
That was Irvine Meadow, who made light work of match favourites Civil Service Strollers.
Meadow were 3-0 up by half-time, and that was how it ended. Ben Carson's side will now host League One side Stenhousemuir in the next round - with the tie to be played on the weekend of Saturday, November 30.
Missing out on a place in the draw was Auchinleck Talbot, who hosted Broxburn Athletic in the second round.
The visitors went 1-0 up on 26 minutes, scoring from a corner, and held on to knock Tommy Sloan's side out.
Away from the Scottish Cup excitement, there was still a number of massive league games taking place across the county.
There was an Irvine Valley derby at Recreation Park, where Darvel hosted Hurlford United - with both sides struggling at the wrong end of the table.
And the sides could not be separated on Saturday, with a rollercoaster match which saw both sides lead at various points ending 2-2.
There were even more goals over at MTC Park, where Gartcairn hosted second placed Largs Thistle.
Despite twice leading by two goals, Stuart Davidson's side could only secure a point with a thrilling match ending 4-4.
At the other end of the table, Loch Park was the host venue for a vital match between Glenafton Athletic and Shotts Bon Accord.
Paul Paton's side were behind on two occasions, but a goal in the final 10 minutes from Chris Erskine handed the new boss his first three league points in charge - and a first league win for the Glens since matchday two.
The win lifts the East Ayrshire side five points clear of the relegation places.
It was not such a good weekend for their rivals Cumnock, who fell below the Glens after their loss.
Facing a tough trip to Johnstone Burgh, Stephen Swift's side lost 3-0 and are now just two points clear of the drop zone.
Also on the end of a 3-0 loss this weekend was reigning champions Beith, who fell further off the pace following their defeat at St Cadoc's.
Chris Strain's side are now 10 points behind leaders Clydebank, who have played two games less than the North Ayrshire outfit.
Into the First Division and it was a weekend of draws for Ayrshire's sides competing in the league.
At Valefield Park, Ardrossan Winton Rovers shared the points with fellow newly promoted side Vale of Clyde following a 1-1 draw.
Both goals were scored in the first half with the result doing little to improve either sides league standing.
At Ladywell Park, it was a high scoring all Ayrshire affair with Maybole Juniors and Kilwinning Rangers drawing a thrilling match 3-3.
The result keeps Maybole in the promotion hunt, and the Buffs firmly in mid-table.
While Kilbirnie Ladeside would also pick up a point following a 2-2 draw away to Petershill which keeps both sides in mid-table positions.
It was a great weekend for all but one Ayrshire side in the Second Division - with only Whitletts Victoria facing defeat.
In a top of the table clash, the South Ayrshire side were narrowly defeated 2-1 by Neilston.
While Muirkirk Juniors bounced back from last weekend's cup defeat to maintain their six point lead in top spot.
They picked up a hard-fought three points by beating Maryhill 2-1 away from home to make it ten wins from 11 matches this season so far.
At the other end of the table, Craigmark Burntonians got off the mark and picked up their first win of the season.
Their 2-1 win at home to Caledonian Locomotive was enough to earn their first points of the campaign. Though they remain bottom they are now just seven points from safety.
While Bonnyton Thistle also continued their resurgence, and moved further away from relegation trouble with a superb 5-4 win away at Lesmahagow.
In the Third Division, it was a much tougher week for Ayrshire sides - with none earning all three points this weekend.
Ardeer Thistle fell out of the promotion places on Saturday following a heavy 5-2 defeat at home to Greenock Juniors - who now occupy second place.
While Dalry Thistle also fell off the pace after they lost 3-2 at home to Glasgow University.
Both Irvine Victoria and Lugar Boswell Thistle failed to improve on their league position - following a thrilling 5-5 draw at Rosebank Park.
The visitors would have been the happier of the two sides - having trailed for much of the match - though still lie in the relegation places, four points from safety.
Also at risk of the drop is Girvan, who failed to climb out of the bottom three on Saturday following a 2-1 loss at home to Finnart.
In Division Four, after three weeks of cup action, Eglinton FC made a triumphant return to league duties.
They were superb in their win over Campbeltown Pupils, with the Kilwinning side running out 8-0 winners at home. They are now just six points from the promotion places with a game in hand.
Rounding off the action were Saltcoats Victoria, who faced a narrow defeat at the weekend.
West Park United visited Campbell Park on Saturday, and picked up a 2-1 win which leaves the home side in 12th position in the standings.
