IRVINE Victoria have parted ways with boss Stuart MacDuff and his management team.

MacDuff was appointed as manager at Victoria Park back in May of this year - following the departure of former gaffer Dougie MacDuff at the conclusion of last season.

However, after a difficult start to the campaign, Vics confirmed that they have parted company with the manager and his team on Wednesday, November 6.

He will now leave alongside his assistant Paul McKay and coaches Scott McDougall, Dylan Bolam and Max Durrant.

A club statement said: "The club have taken the difficult decision to part company with Stuart MacDuff and his management team yesterday morning.

"We wish Stuart, Paul, Max, Scott and Dylan all the best in their future football roles and are disappointed that results on the pitch have not come.

"We cannot fault their dedication to the club and we are thankful for their efforts including the historic Marymass Cup win at Meadow Park, They are always welcome at Victoria Park."

The Vics' next match, a home league tie against Glasgow University on Saturday (November 9), will be looked after by senior players.

The committee will commence their search for a new manager in the coming days.

Whoever takes over the hot seat will be tasked with steering the club away from relegation trouble in the West of Scotland Football League Third Division.

Out with their Marymass Cup win in August, it has been a challenging season for the Vics so far.

They have picked up just one league win and two draws from 11 league matches and lie in second last position in the division.

They are currently four points from safety, despite a strong campaign last season to build upon.

Irvine Victoria finished in seventh position last term, just nine points back of the promotion places. The year prior, they came even closer, falling one point short in fourth place.
